Winter prep.
Weston cut and stacked a bunch of wood today while he was waiting for some hay to be delivered. The hay came from some farm ground about an hour away from us. Two semi loads were delivered today, and there are 6 more coming.
Jiles and Zoe watched in awe from the little treehouse (that Rancher and the kids threw together on Saturday). You can see some of the wood stack there on the left. The wood shelter is now about 2/3 full. It looks and smells so pretty. Rancher has done a fabulous job at prepping us to stay nice and toasty this winter.
And he's finishing up the job of prepping to keep the cow's bellies full all winter.
Studying the art of hay unloading:
The hay shelter out in the field is overflowing and this one will be full in no time, too. And then there is the other hay stack a few miles away. Being prepared is a great thing. And preparing is pretty fun. At least fun to watch for me in this case. (I need to look to my pantry and freezer for my part of the winter prep deal.)
This is my view from my front door, framed by the porch posts:
(I love it!)
And then Zoe, who wanted a closer look, climbed to the top of the fence post and slipped, but caught herself. I had to go get her and carry her back up the hill with my 9-month prego belly. :)

wow, I had a lot of catching up. All of your pictures are beautiful. What a great service that the YM did for the YW!
