The Boonie Life: baby animals

Ah, March.

That month when the landscape turns from white to green.

mmmm.

As soon as it reaches above freezing, the great thaw, as well as the great getting out of doors, begins.

Time to bust out the bikes, both manual and motorized.

Here are some things from March...

Jiles broke his leg on December 29th, and has been in a cast. But even a cast can't keep him off his bike.

Katelyn was having issues with her motorcycle.

So she borrowed Jiles's bike and flew down the hill.

Until she found another means of transportation, while eating a carrot.

When Jonah is in control of feeding himself yogurt (this is pretty much nothing in the mess department):

We got a new van. It is a 12-seater, and it is soooo nice to have room to spread out. We were driving a 9-seater suburban before, and with 9 people, including 3 car seats, it was pretty tight. We have 3 extra seats in this, and a ton of cargo space in the back (I put the stroller in without collapsing it). We are constantly taking extra kids with us, which is so nice to be able to do. This is our first trip with all of us in it, going to church. My face is whited off. I always have to double check to make sure we have everyone because the seats are high that the little ones are hidden.

On March 6th, Jiles got his cast off. Woohoo! (Doing some last minute signing)

He was a little worried about how they were going to take it off. I mean, it is a SAW sawing right on your leg.

But of course he was fine. And excited to see his leg again.

It had lost muscle tone and was really dry. And boy were those toes dirty!

So long, Castanova!

Now we have to keep track of 2 shoes/boots/socks/flip-flops again. He was sooooo glad to be able to go outside again without his cast that he had to be careful not to get wet or muddy.

This was one of his leader's last Pack Meeting, too, since her youngest boy earned his Arrow of Light that night, as well. She is awesome and lots of fun!

It's basketball season:

Ezra played on the rec team.

Even though he is not the tallest on the team, he is one of the leading scorers. He has crazy good hustle, energy, and heart! Running circles around everyone. That boy!! :) At home he dribbles wherever and whenever he can. I pretty much love it! I love basketball and love seeing that he does too.

I think he's always the sweatiest on his team after the games because he runs around like crazy.

March is flood season.

Track started. Spencer is running the 100 m hurdles and doing the high jump and the discus. And Katelyn is also running the 100m hurdles and the 200m dash.

I am sooooo glad to have the van. For one because we are taking between 3-6 extra kids every single day, and for 2 because we are in it at least 3 1/2 hours everyday.
