One early December 43-degree (warm for the mountains in December) afternoon, our little family headed up the mountain to pick us out a nice little Christmas tree.
We were dressed in our finest Christmas-tree-getting attire.
Umm...well, sorta.
We spotted a tree...
...took a quick Mom with the children picture...
...and cut 'er down.
Ezra cut down one for his room, too, which we ended up putting in the family room instead.
Hiking up...
Here it is. It should do quite nicely.
Before we left for home, we did a little slippin' and a slidin'.
And Jiles, Kate, Ezra and I ran back to the road.
We took it home, singing Christmas tunes most of the way, and got it lighted and decorated that night.
