A Blessing and Why the Name

This Oliver boy is so sweet and fun.
And smiley and cute.

2 weeks ago today, on March 2nd, he was blessed in church by his daddy.

They posed for an ipicture right before church.

(Yup, he looks just like a Weston and Carrie baby boy.)

My parents and my sister Holly and most of her clan joined us at church.

Oliver had a handmade piece of both Grandmothers for his special event.  My mom made his little blessing outfit and Weston's mom made the baby afghan.

After church they all came over after for a typical Sunday meal of roast, carrots, potatoes, a fat green salad, and egg boats (deviled eggs) made by the Mothership (because she makes them the best), with cheese cake for dessert.  My mom and dad talked a little about their mission, too, which was really cool and special.

Oliver loved cousin Olivia.  Maybe it's an O thing.  Maybe it's an Oliv- thing.
She would stroke his cheek and he would smile away.

Girls are the minority on my side.
All these girls are super sweet!
Can we say polka-dots?

Saying goodbye to Grammie and Grandad just before they headed out that evening:

A lady that we go to church with made Oliver this baby quilt.  She is so talented.

Really fast...Why the name Oliver Noble?

Oliver is Weston's grandma's grandpa's name, and then his grandpa's name.  (Plus it was a candidate for both Ezra and Jiles.)

Noble is my great-grandmother's maiden/middle name.  She was an amazing women who literally gave part of her own skin for her 2-year-old son (my granddad) when he spilled boiling water from the stove on himself while trying to reach a cookie.  (Plus it has a great meaning.)

Here's a better look at his outfit that my mom made for Jiles for when he was blessed.

Cutie patootie!
