When Weston was burning ditches a couple of weeks ago he found some duck eggs. He hadn't seen any ducks around and didn't want them to get burned, so he snatched them up and put them in the incubator. We had no idea when, or if, they would hatch. Yesterday they hatched. Seven of them. Our little ranchkins couldn't be more excited.
After school today, which was THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!, by the way, it was raining and cold. So what else is there to do on a cold, rainy last day of school? Well, play with day-old ducklings and make super cool - and in Kate and Ezra's case, sticky - paper rings, of course. Kate cut paper, colored them and then glue-sticked them to her and Ezra's fingers (and then let "Rubber" the duckling climb on her shoulder).

Spencer took the scotch tape approach in making his rings. He bottled them and decided that he wanted to sell them. Anyone interested in buying blue construction paper rings?
It finally did stop raining and warmed up enough to take the duckies outside.

Hooray for easy (and cheap) entertainment.
And hooray for ducklings!

Briggs can't stop saying "oh Duh-y" "Duh-y" He wants to buy a "Duh-y" with his birthday mondy!
Olivia's suggestion was to make a different paper ring for each Ducky and put it on there leg so you can tell them apart.

how fun for you guys! I am not sure what's cuter, they ducklings, the rings, or your kiddos...or the combination of all three. Man, they made a ton of those rings! i would totally buy some Spencer, if you want to save them for when we come for Labor day weekend!
